| Can I get an email account through Tangent Website Builder? |
|
Yes. Your Tangent Website Builder account includes 10 E-mail addresses so that you can correspond professionally with your customers, prospects and suppliers.
If needed, you can purchase extra Email addresses to suit your needs. Additional Email addresses may be purchased in blocks of 5 for 4.95/month. Each mailbox is allocated 4 MB of server space.
| I live outside North America. Can I still use this service? |

Absolutely! Because our system is web-based, it doesn’t matter if you’re from New York or New Delhi, Toronto or Tokyo, London or Los Angeles. The time it takes you to set up your website and manage it from wherever you are in the world is completely the same.
All Tangent Website Builder features are available worldwide as long as you have an Internet connection.
| Can I add web tools like a site search, newsletter sign-up, survey or a feature product area to my website? |

Yes, yes, yes and yes. With Tangent Website Builder these are considered standard features that are available to all customers. | If I do know HTML or basic design and would like to customize my website the way I like it, can Tangent Website Builder accommodate me? |

Yes. We have made certain tools available for the advanced users that may want to further customize their websites beyond the standard. For example, customers can change their headers or insert custom made graphics.
Furthermore, there is also an HTML editor that allows you to enter in your own code. This feature is recommended for advanced users only.
| Can I upload PDFs, MP3s, images, spreadsheets and Word documents to my Tangent website? |

| Can I use the pages I create on Tangent Website Builder on a different website? |

No. While the content and any other items you upload are yours, the website and design will not run on any other server or host provider.The Tangent Website Builder content management system is proprietary to Tangent. This system is what makes it possible to switch templates with the click of a mouse and easily amend your content. All of the complex programming is hidden behind the scene on our server. So, bottom line, it is not possible to transfer a created using Tangent Website Builder because its very existence is dependent on the Tangent server.
| Can I change my website once I’ve built it? |

At any time you can change your design with a simple click of a button. This will be especially useful considering a website’s life is usually 2 to 3 years.
Instead of beginning the process all over again, you simply select a new design template that suits you and away you go.The process is quick, easy and painless.
| What will a Tangent Website Builder account cost me? |

$39.95 per month with no set-up fees unless you would like a custom design in which case a set-up fee applies since one of our designers will develop a high quality web presence for you.

No. We’ve intentionally made our entire system web-based for a number of reasons:

| What are the system requirements for using Tangent Website Builder? |

> An Email account from any provider chosen by you (once you become an Tangent Website Builder customer you’ll have your own professional Email addresses)
> A PC computer running Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP and one of the following internet browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 and up or Netscape Navigator version 7 and up or Mozilla 1.3 and up or Firefox 1.0 and up OR you may use a Macintosh computer running OSX or newer and using Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or higher as the browser. (Note: As much as we would love to have Safari work with our editor, it is not yet mature enough to handle the advance features of the WYSIWYG editor. As of release Safari 2.0.1, it still lacks certain features would make it possible to handle the WYSIWYG editor. So for now, Mozilla Firefox is the only mainstream Mac browser compatible with our WYSIWYG editor when using a Mac.).
> A modem or other Internet connection capable of speeds of 28.8kbps (low-bandwidth) or greater
> A domain name is not required to use the Tangent Website Builder system, but if you want a unique domain name (website name), you will need to own one or purchase one.
> A merchant account or Paypal account in your name or business name will be needed if you plan to take advantage of the e-commerce features of Tangent Website Builder
| Will Tangent Website Builder work with a Mac? |

YES! But you need to use Mac OSX and the Mozilla Firefox browser. Safari has not yet matured enough to take advantage of the WYSIWYG editor. You can download the Mac version for Mozilla Firefox for free by clicking here.
| Will Tangent Website Builder work using the Apple Safari Browser? |
|
No, not yet. Safari has not yet matured enough to take advantage of the WYSIWYG editor capabilities. But you can use our system with Mac OSX and the Mozilla Firefox browser. This browser is an excellent alternative to Safari with a lot of cool features. It is a stable and mature product and it's free! You can download the Mac version for Mozilla Firefox for free by clicking here.
| How do I actually build a website using Tangent Website Builder? |

Step-by-step. Tangent has developed an easy-to-use system that walks you through the entire process from start to finish. Tangent Website Builder is specifically tailored for non-technical people so all you have to do is follow the easy steps we’ve laid out for you.

More than anything else, we realize that if it’s not easy for you, it’s not useful. So don’t worry about being technical.
Everything is web-based, so as long as you have an Internet connection, you’re in business – no software to buy, upgrade or install.
| How long will it take me to build a website? |

This is completely up to you. On their own, many customers have put a fully functional web presence together and online within 5 hours; others have built them over the course of a few weeks or even months. While some customers make updates to their websites on a daily basis, others do so only seasonally. We recommend that you look at your website as an ongoing project that acts as one of your most aggressive salespeople – 24/7/365.

| If I already have a website and would like to maintain the same design, can I still use Tangent Website Builder? |
|
Yes, you can. However it may take some time to convert the old site into the new. If that is not something you want to tackle, Tangent would be glad to help. We can convert your website and then give it back to you for management, giving you the ability to take advantage of the great Tangent Website Builder features. Contact us for a free estimate.
| Do I have to sign a contract with Tangent? |
|
No. But we do require that you agree to our Member Agreement before signing up. In this way, there is a clear understanding between both parties moving forward.
| Can I cancel my Tangent Website Builder account at any time? |
|
Yes. Because you are not signed on to a lengthy contract of any kind, you are never obligated to remain an Tangent Website Builder customer. However, please note that fees associated with the Tangent Website Builder service are not refundable. This is a pay-as-you-go system, and we do not offer prorated refunds.
| Are there any additional costs? |
|
No. Generally speaking there are no extra costs involved with the Tangent Website Builder service.
Extra charges are only applied (voluntarily by you, the customer) when you add features or additions beyond what is normally included in Tangent Website Builder package; for example, extra disk space or additional Email addresses.
Also, you may or may not have a website domain name, a merchant account or a corporate logo graphic. These are all items that can be accomodated by Tangent Website Builder, but are not included as part of the subscription service. You can use an existing domain name you own for the website you build with Tangent Website Builder. Or you can purchase a new domain name if you don't already own one. Likewise, you can integrate your existing merchant account with your Tangent website or start one with the merchant account provider of your choice.
| Are there any hidden costs I should worry about? |

Absolutely none! As a company founded on integrity, we promise that there will be no surprises once you’ve signed up. In fact, we offer a Free 30-Day Trial so that you can see exactly what you are getting into before you ever give us any billing information.
| What are the costs involved with setting up a merchant account? |
|
Well, this answer is going to be kind of involved, but please bear with me and you may save some money. Below is a chart of what the typical fees are for accepting credit cards online. It typically requires having a Gateway provider and a Merchant Account. Sometimes these are the same company. There are many companies that offer these services and the fees in the chart below are typical.

The Set-up fee is a one time fee to set up your account. Sometimes companies will wave this fee, but charge more in other fees to make up for it. The Monthly subscription can vary depending on what credit cards you accept (additional charges for American Express and Discover) and if you are charged by both a Merchant Account provider and a Gateway provider. The per transaction fee is what you are charged every time you process a credit card PLUS the fee that is charged by the credit card company which is a percentage of the sale. If the transaction fees fall short of the monthly minimum, you are usually billed the difference. So you need to be doing enough business that you rack up that monthly minimum for the Merchant Account provider or they will bill you for it.
The good news is that PayPal has now gotten into the Merchant Services game and is offering a very competative and simplified service. Their online Merchant Account service is called Paypal Website Payments Pro and the fees are as follows:

PayPal actually offers four solutions for collecting payments over the internet. The one described above (Website Payments Pro) has the advantage of keeping the customer on your website for the checkout. However, you may want to consider some of the other solutions they offer. | What do your E-Commerce services include? |

Our E-Commerce service is standard with the $39.95 per month and includes the following:

| What credit cards can I process? |

What types of credit cards you are able to accept depends on whether you set up through PayPal or Merchant Account.
PayPal customers can accept:

Merchant Account customers can accept:
> Mastercard
> Visa
> AMEX (typically extra fees apply)
> Discover (typically extra fees apply)
| If I already have an Internet merchant account, can I use it with your service? |

Potentially, you can use our service but would still be required to set-up a Payment Gateway through Tangent in order to process payments over the Internet.
A great alternative (and more affordable) to a Merchant Account is to register a PayPal account.
| How will I receive orders from my customers? |
|
In both cases (Merchant Account or PayPal) you will receive an auto-responder (to the Email address you specify) immediately notifying you of the transaction.
It's this simple: you get the auto-responder and fulfill the order based on the transaction.
Of course, it is your responsibility to respond fulfill the order.
| Can I accept international orders online throught the website I've built using Tangent Website Builder? |
|
Yes. Your customer will be billed based on the currency he/she has decided to pay in.
The customer’s credit card company will perform the currency exchange so your customer will see the amount in his/her countries currency.
| Can I use my own web address (or domain name) with my Tangent website, or do I have to use a web address that includes TangentWebsiteBuilder.com in the name? |
|
Both options are available to you.
We strongly recommend your own domain name (for example, www.mycompany.com) as it looks much more professional and will be easier to remember for your customers (as opposed to mycompany.TangentWebsiteBuilder.com).You simply have to have your domain name point to our servers and we take care of the rest (we can help you manage this).
If you don’t have a domain name however, you can still have a domain set up through us temporarily or as long as you need (for example, mycompany.TangentWebsiteBuilder.com).
| If I already have a website and would like to maintain the same design, can I still use Tangent? |
|
Yes. Depending on what’s required, Tangent’s expert design team can modify your website or duplicate it to work with our system. Because there are so many variables to take into account we charge an hourly fee based on what is required.
In many cases, our award-winning design team will actually upgrade your design and improve its functionality in order to augment your business’ presentation. Before we actually begin work, we provide you with a firm cost so you can budget accordingly.
It is also possible to roll this additional cost into easy-to-manage monthly payments (as opposed to lump sum fee).
| Can I connect/link my Tangent website with another website? |
|
Absolutely. This is simply called a 'hyperlink', and you have full control over how many websites you link to.
| How secure is my Tangent Website Builder account? |
|
No one can access your account except for authorized Tangent personnel. Using the same security measures as online banking, we provide the utmost in security.
Aside from encryption Tangent also has firewalls in place as well as redundancy servers.
| What security does Tangent offer for its E-commerce package (BIZ)? |
|
Tangent automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of at least 128-bits (the highest level commercially available and used by all major banks).
In fact, Tangent's encryption "scrambles" your data into a completely illegible format it cannot be interpreted. Our systems allow for up to 1024-bit encryption.
| Will anyone else be able to access my account details or data? |
|
No. This information is password protected so only you know your information. We advise our customers not to share this information with others and not to use generic passwords like ‘1234’, your last name or business name.
| Will my website always be available to my customers? |
|
Our customers’ websites are available 99.5% of the time. Because we are constantly improving our service we may temporarily interrupt service for a few seconds while we add the latest upgrade. Of course, we always perform this maintenance during off-peak hours.
